Step #1- Understanding the Apps
Both the iRobot i7 and i7+ are controlled with the use of iRobot HOME App You can download this “free” App through Google pay store or directly from iRobot. WiFi connectivity is required for the proper operation of your new state-of-the-art vacuum. *IMPORTANT* These robotic vacuums will not function on a cell phone signal or frequency.
For sending voice commands directly to your new iRobot i7 or i7+, Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant in conjunction with your WiFI is required. *NOTE* Vacuums will work perfectly with programming from you i-phone, i-pad or tablet without installation of either Amazon Alexia or Google Assistant for voice commands, however WiFi connectivity is mandatory.
Both the iRobot i7 and i7+ have the latest in computer onboard technology installed that are the brains of this ingenious vacuum. This technology includes:
iAdapt 3.0 Navigation allows your new iRobot i7 or i7+ to create “virtual” Imprint Smart Maps. Creating and storing virtual maps of the room in your home or office including square feet and obstructions. Giving you options on your smartphone, you may program your new iRobot i7 or i7+ to “Clean All” rooms or certain high traffic areas of your home. Simply click “Enable Imprint Smart Maps” on your device to activate this feature.
Imprint Smart Mapping assigns digital floor plans to your new iRobot i7 or i7+ allowing you to assign titles to each room of your home such as “kitchen”, “Bedroom #1”, “Living Room” E.g. iAdapt 3.0 Navigation is the heart of your new iRobot i7 or i7+ and must be used correctly to ensure proper operation of your new vacuum. *NOTE* Your new iRobot vacuum has the capacity to recognize no more than 10 rooms at any given time.

Placement of the Charging Station
Your new iRobot i7 or i7+ should be placed in a centralized area of your home, free of obstructions with 3-4 feet of free space to the sides and front of the charging station. Remove all loose obstacles such as toys and clothing from the floor where your new iRobot vacuum is scheduled to clean. Doors to all rooms that are to be cleaned should be left open when your new iRobot is vacuuming. Additional lighting in dark and narrow hallways may also be required.
Training Runs

Step #3-Maintenance/Cleaning
iRobot Sensors
Although completely self-sufficient, periodic cleaning of the sensors and dirt bins of either the iRobot i7 or i7+ is recommended. Using a microfiber, slightly damp cloth, wipe the sensors located on the top of the iRobot vacuum to remove any dust or dirt. These sensors house the iAdapt localization camera and may interfere with the overall mobility and navigation of your new robotic vacuum if not cleaned properly.
NEVER use any harsh cleaning agents to clean the sensors on your iRobot i7 or i7+ vacuum. Possible damage to the sensors is possible. Remove any debris on the iAdapt Floor Tracking Sensor located on the bottom right side of either the iRobot i7 or i7+. Open the iRobot App on your smartphone and select “Cleaning Preferences”. Click on “Edge Clean” to activate the angled brushes on either the iRobot i7 or i7+ to ensure that your new robotic vacuum is cleaning your entire floor surface.
Dirt Bins/AeroVac Filter
Periodic cleaning of the dirt bins is recommended for both the iRobot i7 and i7+ depending on the built-up accumulated dirt. * IMPORTANT* These dirt bins are NOT DISHWASHER SAFE!!Rinse interior of the dirt bins with warm water and dry completely before re-installing. NEVER wash or get the specialized AeroVac Filter on either the i7 and i7+ wet. This will permanently damage the filter.
